Spinning Spirit House, or Meringue Clouds-Ghost House, is the Ghost House level of Meringue Clouds in New Super Mario Bros. U. It is unlocked by defeating Kamek at Slide Lift Tower, and its own completion unlocks Bouncy Cloud Boomerangs, A Quick Dip in the Sky, and Snaking above Mist Valley. The house also contains a secret exit that reveals a shortcut to Ludwig's Clockwork Castle.

Layout[edit]

The level begins in a small room with a Warp Door, and Boos and Big Boos behind the walls. The Warp Door leads to an area with multiple other Warp Doors, as well as fake walls. Stone walls prevent the player from accessing some of the doors, and only the a Warp Door in a fake wall to the right can be accessed. The area through the door contains a moving section of the ground, with Circling Boo Buddies and a Warp Door at the end. The Warp Door leads back to the area with multiple Warp Doors, where some of the stone walls have disappeared, allowing access to more Warp Doors. A Trampoline allows access to a Warp Door on the top row, which allows the player to progress. The area through the Warp Door contains Obake Blocks and poles. A Warp Door leads back to the area with multiple Warp Doors, and a door on the right side of the second row can be accessed. The area contains a platform that moves downwards, and Big Boos are encountered. A Warp Door leads to the area with the Goal Pole.

Star Coins[edit]

  • Star Coin 1: In the room with the lowering platform and a Broozer, the player must tempt the Broozer into breaking the stone blocks that seal in the first Star Coin.
  • Star Coin 2: The second Star Coin can easily be found in the room with Circling Boo Buddies and rocking floors. The room can be accessed through the very upper-right door in the main room.
  • Star Coin 3: A secret passageway in the main room can be found when the player uses a Trampoline to reach it above the door where the first Star Coin lies. The secret passageway leads to a hidden door. In the next room, the player must use the P Switch and quickly head to the bottom of the room. While there, the player should go through the fake wall to grab the third Star Coin before the time runs out on the P Switch.

Secret Exit[edit]

The player must take the same route used to get the third Star Coin. It leads to Ludwig's Clockwork Castle.
